Real Nepalese had an easily identifiable smell. Sharp and strong, it’s more musty than dank with noticeably sour overtones. The texture was generally quite grainy, often crudely mixed and always hand pressed. The exception being Temple Balls, which was typically stronger and much more refined, with a more consistent colour and texture.
The Nep I received from WD doesn’t look much like the photo but neither look like original Nepalese.
I don’t know how these growers decide what they’re naming their products but in my experience, domestic growers rarely get very close to replicating the real thing.
Whatever they call it, this is a very nice, decently priced hash. It won’t make it into my primo box but I would certainly buy it again for effective, general use.
